Duann V. Thistlethwaite, RPh, BCNP, FAPhA, is an Accreditation and Inspections Manager with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy who handles operations including recruitment, hiring, training and evaluations. Additionally, she manages the on-site and virtual inspection processes for internal and contracted inspection programs, and Accreditation surveys.
Duann is a board certified nuclear pharmacist holding active licenses in nine states. She has over two decades of experience in nuclear compounding, nonsterile and sterile, in a variety of practice settings: centralized, corporate, and PET. She holds Six Sigma GreenBelt certification. Duann is a proud graduate of Purdue University.
Duann is an active member of the APhA. In APhA-APPM, she has served in the House of Delegates, New Practitioner, Chair-Elect, and Chair, Nuclear Pharmacy Practice Section and loves participating on SIG committees. She is a past member, Co-Chair and Chair of the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Nuclear Pharmacy Specialty Council. Currently, she is a membe of the BPS Sterile Compounding Council. Duann served as an editorial board member of UNM’s “Continuing Education for Nuclear Pharmacists and Nuclear Medicine Professionals.” She was involved in SNMMI as an elected member of the RPSC and served on numerous committees. Duann is an APhA Fellow and recipient of the APhA Distinguished Achievement Awards for Service & William H. Briner for Nuclear Pharmacy Practice. She is recognized by Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, Outstanding Young Women of America and the International Women’s Leadership Association.
She gives back to the community through volunteer service & enourages others to do so.
Duann strives to assure patient safety & a secure supply chain are integral parts of practice in all pharmacy settings and understanding the application of regulations is the norm.
