Diane A. McKay, Psy.D.
Dr. McKay is Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Organizational Consultant. She began her professional career in the Pharmaceutical Industry. She received graduate training at Villanova University and, later, the Forest Institute where she received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D. ). Her dissertation on Cardiac Psychology explored the relationship between cardiac disease and various psychosocial factors. She specializes in Eating Disorders, Trauma, Grief and Loss, and Chronic Illness. She conducts psychological evaluations for Pre-Employment and Fitness for Duty and to assist with identifying the presence/absence of psychiatric illnesses and/or impairment.
She is a Level 3 Gottman Therapist working with couples to teach them the skills necessary to build and maintain successful, healthy relationships. She is a Certified Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor and is certified to conduct Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions. She was elected President of the Florida Psychological Association (2011 – 2013), President of the Society for Psychologists in Management (2013-2015), and Member-At-Large for the American Psychological Association-Committee of State Leaders from 2010-2015. She has also been honored with several awards for her work and for developing the Psychological Healthy Workplace Program in Florida. Dr. McKay has also received the “Achievement Medal for Civilian Service” from the DoD/U.S. Army for her work with the 2-69 Battalion at Ft. Benning, GA.
She is currently the Director for Behavioral Health at LECOM’s Bradenton Campus where she works with administration and students to develop wellness programs and designing innovative curriculums as related to Psychology and Behavioral Science that neet the changing needs of the next generation of physicians, dentists, and pharmacists so that they may more effectively serve the communities they work with while, simultaneously, attending to their personal and professional well-being and health.
