Thomas (Tom) Griner, PhD, JD, MPP, is a Georgia attorney and public health researcher. Tom has tried more than 80 jury trials involving a wide variety of crimes, including complex murder cases with multiple defendants and multiple deaths, drug trafficking and distribution, and vehicular homicide. He has also served as lead counsel in a variety of appellate cases before both the Court of Appeals of Georgia and Supreme Court of Georgia. Tom enjoys studying matters related to drug policies and has received national recognition for his research into the effect of laws designed to reduce overdose deaths. Tom has written numerous articles concerning Georgia criminal law and has several papers in progress concerning opioid overdose.
